Pattern is not simply decorative: it is an archive, a story, and a lens.

Hello Kirsten (she/her) is a Canadian artist best known for her large-scale patterned murals and colourful immersive installations. Now based in Berlin, she honed her skills in Montreal’s bustling collaborative street art scene before spending a decade in Toronto focused on art publishing and mural painting.

Her murals, paintings, and sculptures create moments of joyful engagement. She is most at home in non-traditional spaces, using radical creativity and resourcefulness to transform unexpected locations (such as abandoned buildings, rooftops, and parking lots) into engaging spaces that engender curiosity around challenging topics.

She has been creating murals and public art installations for nearly 20 years, in cities spanning the globe. She has created custom artwork for clients such as Facebook, Redbull Racing, 1Password, Cirque du Soleil, lululemon, Converse, Perrier, and The W Hotel. Her festivals include SeaWalls, the Yorkville Murals Festival, and The Shanghai International Arts Festival.

She has shown her art in many galleries, including the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto), Montreal's Musée des Beaux Arts, and The Art Media Centre (Shanghai), and has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Forbes, Sports Illustrated, Canadian Art, and Fast Company, and books such as Print/Maker (Uppercase, 2018) and Printopolis (Open Studio, 2016).
